BMDs – UK

Records

Civil Registration began in 1837.

Previously, it was the responsibility of the Parish Church clergy to record, births, marriages and deaths within the parish.

The first official Census was recorded in 1841 up to the last census recorded in 2011, with an exception during the 2nd World War.

The 1939 Register is a very helpful resource as it documents 41 million lives recorded in one day at the outbreak of World War II.

Other Records

This will be the section where I will post other such as Parish Records, Newspaper cuttings, Phone Directories, Military Records, Trade Directories, Poll Books and other resources for Windlow people in the UK

1837 onwards
